If your grandmother was from North Carolina and she enjoyed gardening, chances are she grew Hollyhocks. 

These graceful, colorful flowers are an old fashioned southern favorite but you rarely see them nowadays, likely because they—like the equally beautiful Foxgloves—are biennial (meaning they start from seed one year and bloom the next).

This is an original 36 × 36” oil painting on canvas and framed in a maple floater frame. Signed, varnished and wired to hang.
